Xiaomi has done it again, this time with the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (or K20 Pro for the Asian market) that it has presented with high-end specifications at a price typical of the mid-range, typical of Xiaomi and Redmi. And we have been lucky enough to try it, getting very good feelings.
This is the new giant kills, and is that the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro comes with a series of features that allow you to show muscle against the models of other brands in medium / high ranges. The first Redmi to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 as a processor, but also dares with a retractable camera to make the most of the screen.
As we have said, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro stands out for having the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, the most powerful offered by Qualcomm so far. This processor is accompanied by a RAM that can be 6 or 8 GB. Storage is also variable, with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB models.
In the tests we have done, the phone behaves very well and without surprises, maintaining the fluency regardless of what task we execute, without lags or pulls even if we are alternating between various demanding apps at the level of resources and graphic load.
In the section of screen, we see brings a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel. With hardly any frames and taking advantage of the entire front (91.9% as indicated), since its front camera is hidden inside the phone through a retractable mechanism. The screen has a ratio of 19.5: 9 and its resolution is Full HD of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels.
And it is that the screen looks very good, without pixelated images or there is a bad experience, well at the level of sharpness and also of contrast. The automatic brightness works quite well, without noticing that it is slow in the most abrupt changes of illumination.
It is on the screen where we also find the authentication sensor, a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen. In the tests we have done, the reading is always fast and accurate regardless of whether we place the entire mark well or is somewhat tilted.
And in the cameras it has not been left behind, it comes with three rear cameras and a retractable front, since the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro also wants to compete in photography. Although in this aspect the processing and software optimization stand out more and more, Redmi has placed a few cameras to be able to breastfeed when taking photographs. Specifically, three rear cameras are found: 48 MP main camera with f /1.75 aperture, 13 MP wide-angle camera with f /2.4 aperture and 8 MP telephoto camera with f /2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom.
The great novelty that we had not seen in a Xiaomi phone, is that for the front camera the manufacturer has opted for a telescopic mechanism, that is, the camera protrudes from the inside and thus does not occupy part of the front where the screen is located . It arrives with 20 MP resolution. And don’t forget, the operating system is Android 9 Pie.
As for the battery we find a capacity of 4,000 mAh with a fast charge 27W, which will hold us at least one full day, if not two. By the way, it has fingerprint reader built into the screen.
